Unfortunately, the story itself was more of a modern-day romance played on an Egyptian stage - Good Guys, Bad Guys, and Sweet Young Things, with True Love inevitably triumphing. For this novel, it's worth reading the material at the back of the book or on the author's website to learn more about the chronology and political events. Review 1: Getting into another world is the fun part of historical fiction, and I love the details and factoids (Pharaoh Rameses really had red hair!). ![]()
